Frequently Asked Questions

faq

What will my appointment be like?

The physician will sit down in private with you and converse about your ailments. Then, the physician will make routes of administration & dosing recommendations, along with providing you with information to nearby dispensaries. Lastly, our team will submit your prescription and information to the Medical Marijuana Use Registry for processing.

Do I have to bring records or documents?

No, as long as you complete our intake forms and can explain your ailments to the doctor, you can be approved. If you do have supporting documents, we encourage you to bring them in to help the doctor make an accurate diagnosis.

Can I buy medical marijuana right after my appointment?

After you are approved by one of our physicians, we provide you with a simple state verification application that needs to be submitted through your online profile that our staff creates. Once you complete that, you can go that same day to any dispensary in Florida to purchase medication. If you are a seasonal resident, then the Department of Health takes between 5-10 business days to review your information. Once reviewed, you will receive an approval email from the DOH that will allow you to purchase medication.

What all is included in my prescription?

Our physicians provide you with access to all routes of administration, which allows you to try any form of medical marijuana at any dispensary in Florida. This includes Flower, Inhalation, Oral, Edibles, Topical, and Sublingual categories in both High-THC & Low-THC. Your script will also be for the maximum time that the State of Florida allows a medical marijuana script to be written for. On top of that, we will provide you with discounts to nearby dispensaries so you can save money on your medication.

How old do I have to be to get a medical marijuana card?

In Florida, you are allowed access to medical marijuana at the age of 18.

Do you offer appointments on the weekend?

Yes we do! We offer appointments every Saturday for patients who are busy during the weekdays.

Can I be seen via telemedicine?

Yes! On July 1, 2023, House Bill 387 went into effect, which allows our doctors to see Renewal Patients over the phone or computer. If you are a First Time Patient in Florida, the state requires us to see you in-person and then every visit thereafter our doctors can see you via telemedicine.

If I am a transfer patient are there any additional fees?

No, there are no additional fees for transferring over to our practice. We find that many patients are unhappy with their doctor, the prescription the doctor put in, or the patient care that they received. Our friendly staff will make sure you have an easy transition.

Is there an extra cost to increase my dosing and supply limits?

Our doctors are happy to grant requests for increases to your prescription at no extra charge. We want to make sure you get the relief that you deserve! We will always start patients out with the maximum aggregated total of 24,500 mg's. Per state guidelines, patients must request an increase through our office before an increase is implemented. Bear in mind, it can take the state up to 14 business days to approve increases, but we typically see the state approve them within 3-5 business days. On August 29, 2022, the state implemented Emergency Rule 64ER22-8, Dosing and Supply Limits for Medical Marijuana. This order determined the daily dose amounts and supply limits for approved routes of administration of marijuana. Section 381.986(4)(f)1., F.S., allows a qualified physician to request an exception to the daily dose amount for their qualified patient by electronically submitting the “Request for Exception” form in the Registry.

Do I have to be concerned about any privacy issues if I receive an evaluation or recommendation?

No, your visit is protected under the privacy laws of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). The only individuals who will have access to your records are those who you choose to share those records with.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards, debit cards, or cash as payment on the day of your appointment.
