How long will my appointment take?

Approximately 15 minutes! Come in for your exam, and if you qualify, your physician will immediately add you to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use Registry.

Do I have to be concerned about any privacy issues if I receive an evaluation or recommendation?

No, your visit is protected under the privacy laws of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). The only individuals who will have access to your records are those who you choose to share those records with.

Do I have to be 18 to receive a recommendation?

No, if you are younger than 18 you can receive an evaluation if you are accompanied by a guardian. Pediatric patients must have a guardian call to book an appointment with us at 813-501-4777.

Is medical marijuana good for senior citizens?

In many cases senior citizens have reached out to us due to pain and discomfort from common age-related conditions, such as: rheumatoid arthritis & fibromyalgia, and found relief after treatment. Cannabis is a natural anti-inflammatory which could potentially replace other harmful medications commonly prescribed for many of these age-related conditions.

Can I buy medical marijuana right after my appointment?

After you are approved by one of our physicians, we provide you with a simple state application that needs to be sent to the Department of Health. Then, you will receive your state cannabis card, needed to purchase your medicine. The Department of Health’s website states the process takes between 1-2 weeks. We recommend sending in your application as soon as possible after your appointment.

Will medical marijuana give me the psychological head rush also known as the “high”?

That chemical component is known as THC. The strength can be controlled with your dosage, depending on the condition, physician’s recommendation, and what you are comfortable with. THC is very beneficial to boost other chemical properties in the plant but, it can also be given in a very low dosage, that will not affect you psychologically.
